Raised planting beds 2
Following on from the first bed, the second was in the front garden and this time it was set on block paving and had multiple compound angles and a stepped finish.
The problem this time was that I couldn't bury the ends of the sleepers in the ground so I had to cut them in a taper. The mitre saw is great for cutting across the timber but cutting a taper lengthwise along a sleeper was a different matter. I did it with my table saw but it would have been possible with the circular saw. Additionally. although you can't tell, I cheated. I cut a sleeper lengthways so I had 3 sections of 100 x 60 approx. This made it easier to cut the tapers. I'll do a separate explanation of this at some point. If you want to know about methods or tools or materials used just ask.
