Yes it's "just a vacuum cleaner" BUT it's cordless AND big enough to to do some decent clearing up. The battery won't last long enough to do your whole house but at areound 15 mins total run time on a big battery it's fine for a clear up after a small DIY project. After the drill driver it's my most used tool. It says in the manual it's not a wet / dry vac but in fairness I've used mine for all sorts.
